PrismHR LIVE 2018: A Recap
What a week it was at PrismHR LIVE 2018 in San Antonio! If you were in the middle of all the action, PrismHR’s 15th user conference served as an invaluable opportunity to meet with the PrismHR community like no other event. Located right along the famous San Antonio River Walk lined with Tex-Mex restaurants, local shops, and historic Spanish missions like the Alamo, PrismHR LIVE 2018 was a hit for attendees and the PrismHR team alike.
From the first ever user conference in 2000 to this year’s conference in San Antonio, PrismHR LIVE has certainly come a long way. What started as a user group discussion of 18 attendees from 30 PEOs has now grown into the biggest technology conference for the PEO and ASO industry, with 550+ attendees from 120+ HROs at PrismHR LIVE 2018.
HR outsourcing professionals from around the country gathered at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter from June 10-13 to experience more than three days of exclusive educational content, networking opportunities, and insight into the latest developments from PrismHR.
PrismHR LIVE 2018 opened with the Welcome Reception, reuniting HRO industry peers, partners, and the PrismHR team on the Exhibit Hall floor.
30+ industry vendors were available to help attendees looking to extend PrismHR’s capabilities in applicant tracking, consulting, and more. Thanks to our partners and sponsors for making PrismHR LIVE 2018 possible!
The first full day of PrismHR LIVE 2018 began with a fun introduction to Texas by Dallas “local,” Mark Sinatra, CEO of Staff One, encouraging everyone to enjoy the BBQ and heat, but not to mess with Texas.
PrismHR CEO, Gary Noke and VP of Marketing, Jonathan Wall then followed with the Company Update. PrismHR customers were commemorated for 1-20+ years of business and conference attendance.
In a tradition debuted last year as PrismHR Gives Back, Heartgift was presented as PrismHR LIVE 2018’s charity recipient. Providing life saving heart surgery to children from around the world with little to no access of specialized medical treatment, Heartgift has served over 400 children from 34 countries. PrismHR was honored to have one receiving patient and his family present along with Jason Derscheid, Executive Director of Heartgift.
PrismHR announced a new partnership with AP Intego as well as an extended partnership with nettime solutions, supporting the continuous expansion and enhancement of offerings that PrismHR customers can make available to their clients.
Next up, PrismHR’s Chief Innovation Officer, Adam Van Beek and VP of Product Management, Scott Cormier took the stage to share the latest on PrismHR Products and Services, and to provide some insight on what’s coming next. From acquiring NetWise Technology, to expanding the platform with all new onboarding and reporting capabilities, to achieving SOC 2 Compliance, PrismHR was definitely busy this past year.
Also unveiled was the new Employee Experience video, highlighting the importance of a great experience to your worksite employees. PrismHR customers can view the video in the SEEDS Portal.
Brought to the forefront of PrismHR LIVE this year, Sneak Peeks took attendees on a wild safari and even into outer space with an exclusive look at the latest top-secret projects in the works at PrismHR. Those that were showcased included Manager Functionality in the Employee Portal, Interactive Reports, PrismHR Home Page, Document Management, Advanced Alerts, and Client Setup Wizard. It’s hard to say which reveal spawned the most cheer, but Sneak Peeks definitely left the audience buzzing for the rest of the conference.
And with that, the rest of the conference kicked off, with 5 session tracks of 60 breakout sessions jam-packed with interactive learning from the PrismHR team and industry experts.
Tracks included Payroll & Benefits, Data & Systems, What’s New, Growth, and a brand new track on Business Efficiency, focusing on the new capabilities of PrismHR Pulse℠.
The UX Lab also debuted this year as part of the Learning Lab, featuring the Brainiac Bar and Demo Zones too. At every break, the Learning Lab was staffed by the support team, product managers, and UX designers eager to answer questions, show demos, and gather new ideas.
Monday ended with an offsite party at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville sponsored by JazzHR. With live music, adult snowcones, and games, attendees relaxed along the San Antonio River Walk long into the night.
Michael Brenner, a top 10 keynote speaker as listed by Forbes from Marketing Insider Group, brought some chuckles to the crowd bright and early Tuesday morning during his engaging keynote on what it means to be a Champion Leader: one who manages satisfied employees with empathy and encouragement to create an atmosphere of innovation, passion, and growth.
From how-to trainings, to product overviews, to panels and chances to meet PrismHR teams, breakout sessions carried on throughout the day.
Tuesday afternoon wrapped up with the third annual Craigie Awards, the PrismHR Digital Marketing Awards. Congratulations to the winners: Aureon, TandemHR, and Xenium, which won in two categories!
Straight after the Craigies, it was onto the buses heading to Knibbe Ranch in Spring Branch, Texas. A real working ranch run by the Knibbe family, Knibbe Ranch hosted PrismHR LIVE attendees in an exciting night of BBQ, live entertainment, cornhole, horseshoes, and of course, armadillo racing. Swift Sparks and his four armadillos were the stars of the show as willing contestants became one with the armadillos, trying any means possible to quickly and safely lead their race partners scurrying across the finish line.
Wednesday morning opened with an update from Pat Cleary, CEO of the National Association of PEOs. After a couple of more sessions, PrismHR LIVE 2018 closed with the Executive Panel, highlighting closing thoughts and takeaways to bring home, and allowing attendees to ask questions of PrismHR executives.
Since the very first user conference and the days of ScorPEO 18 years ago, the goal of PrismHR LIVE has been to bring together customers, partners, speakers, and the rest of the PrismHR community to collaborate and give feedback face-to-face. PrismHR LIVE 2018 was no exception, and we want to thank all those who came to be a part of it.
We hope to see you again next year for PrismHR LIVE 2019 at the
Westin Boston Waterfront in Massachusetts!
