National PEO Week: Dreams Come True Thanks to You

There are dreamers everywhere …
Walk down Main Street USA, and you’ll see those dreamers behind those storefronts helping customers. They also play a key role in helping their communities thrive.
But for every Toms Shoes—which started as a small business way back when and has since grown into a shoemaking and shoe-donating juggernaut—there’s an Everyday Tom that didn’t have the resources to make their dreams come true. The vision was there, but dreams fall flat when “shoes” are left untied, metaphorically speaking.

With the second-annual National PEO Week underway,
PrismHR salutes the PEOs that help SMBs shine.
How many small-business owners have asked themselves “What if?” and then pulled out a laptop, notebook, sticky note, a napkin or whatever was handy to document their vision? Too many! After daydreaming about what could be, how many of those same business owners asked themselves, “How do I turn my dream into a reality?” without having the answers or the tools to succeed?
As a Professional Employer Organization (PEO), you know what it’s like to dream, and you know how to tie those “shoelaces” tight for your small and medium-sized business (SMB) clients while finishing it off with a perfect bow. Countless businesses literally couldn’t handle their HR processes without you.
In essence, you, as a PEO, help make these dreams come true every single day. So, thank you for all you do!
Today, more than 500 PEOs in the country handle HR-related tasks for 208,000 clients and 4.5 million worksite employees (WSEs) with a combined payroll of more than $305 billion, according to the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO).
Keep in mind that 99% of all businesses in the United States are small businesses, and those companies employ almost half (46.4%) of all U.S. employees. Backbone of the economy, indeed.
That means many SMBs are looking for guidance on their HR matters to help make their dreams come true. If only someone could help them …
Did I hear someone say, “What about PEOs?”
Great idea! PEOs help their SMB clients grow 7% to 9% faster and reduce employee turnover by 10% to 14%, according to NAPEO. And talk about keeping the dream alive, businesses that use a PEO are 50% less likely to go out of business than businesses that do not use one.
Yep, PEOs are that important.
And PEOs love what they do for their clients. Almost half of respondents on a recent PrismHR LinkedIn poll chose “Helping SMBs Grow” as the thing that makes them proudest about being a PEO.

You’re proud of them and we’re proud of you. PrismHR’s promise is to continue to partner with you on innovation to give you the tech tools you need to help you and your clients succeed. Making dreams a reality takes more than imagination after all, it takes solutions that help drive better business decisions, too.
When NAPEO dreamed of getting a National PEO Week on the Congressional Record in 2023, they had a vision for just how important PEOs are. They found a champion in Rep. Erin Houchin (R-Indiana). Houchin said last year that, “PEOs play a critical role in helping businesses survive and thrive, particularly during challenging times.”
How true. You’re there for your clients in the good times and you’re there for them in the bad times. Dreams, as you know, don’t follow a script!
As your HR tech partner, we tip our hats to all the PEOs!
Dreams do come true because of all that you do. Happy National PEO Week; it’s your time to shine!
