PrismHR LIVE 2023: What’s Happening in Austin?

By James Tehrani

In an arpeggio, a chord is played note by note rather than in one fell swoop. Think Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven, Adele’s Someone Like You or Coldplay’s Clocks. In many ways an arpeggio can also be seen as a metaphor for a well-executed conference where each session/event becomes part of a larger overall theme.

That’s PrismHR LIVE since we’re #RaisingtheBar with this year’s theme, and striking the right chord in the process.

PrismHR LIVE 2023

PrismHR LIVE takes place at the JW Marriott Austin, which is a two-minute walk from the Colorado River and a 25-minute walk from the famed Franklin Barbecue restaurant, which you won’t want to miss. People line up nice and early to get that good eatin’ before the grub is gone for the day. We’re told it’s definitely worth the wait.

And if you just want to relax before the conference starts, the JW Marriott Austin offers plenty of places to gather, grab a bite or cocktail, relax and have fun.

And while there’s plenty to learn from the hands-on workshops, keynotes, networking and spotlight sessions planned at PrismHR LIVE, there’s a whole lot of fun, too.

June 25

To get you ready for a great conference, PrismHR has planned a welcome reception for Sunday night from 6-8 p.m. While we’re raising the bar, you can be heading to the bar to enjoy drinks and light fare as you catch up with old friends and make new ones as well. Of course, there will be some fun interactive activities and giveaways from our partners planned as well. Stay tuned!

And the fun will have just begun.

June 26

On Monday night, after a day of learning, we know you’ll have a big appetite for supper. That’s why we are headed to Banger’s for some BBQ goodness. Sponsored by our friends at ZayZoon, this evening is sure to be a hit that we are really jazzed about.

June 27

The beat goes on …

If you joined us in San Diego last year or other previous LIVEs, you know the last night of the conference is a huge party. So why should this year be any exception? With food, drink and maybe a little dancin’ and/or chillin’ here and there, this terrace party cannot be beat.

Other Things to Do in Austin

Since 1991, Austin, Texas, has been known as the Live Music Capital of the World, so it’s natural that PrismHR LIVE will take place there June 25-27—and we’re ready to rock.

Over the years, music icons, such as Janis Joplin, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Gary Clark Jr., Selena Quintanilla-Peréz and, of course, Willie Nelson, have jammed in Austin. So this town is quite familiar with having a rockin’-good time.

And rolling into Austin is always a lot of fun.

Whether it’s sampling some of the local delicacies from the restaurant scene, exploring the local museums near the conference hotel or sampling the lively Austin nightlife, there’s something for everyone. On the museum front, there’s the Mexic-Arte Museum, which is one of the few Latin art museums in the United States showcasing Mexican and Latino art; the Bullock Texas State History Museum, which tells the history of the Lone Star State; and the Museum of the Weird, which, weirdly enough, needs no explanation.

Before PrismHR LIVE officially begins on Sunday, June 25, or after it ends on June 27, perhaps you’ll want to take in the many scenic outdoor activities that make Austin so special. There are several natural pools and swimming holes, including Barton Springs Pool, which maintains an average temperature of 68 to 70 degrees year round, and has two waterfalls along its path, Twin Falls and Sculpture Falls.

So who’s ready to dive in?

Ready to join us in Austin? We thought so. Register today; we’ll make sure everything is in tune note for note! But hurry, the “clock” is ticking.
