Kent Seith has been with PrismHR for 9 years and is the Principal Product Manager for Employee Portal and Document Management. Kent was employee number 36, and we now have over 500 employees here at PrismHR.
Kent started as an Implementation Specialist working side by side with our customers on their implementations, project management, training, and setups. After spending some time in the field Kent was one of the first members of the Product Management team, initially working on a wide variety of the core PrismHR modules
What is your background before coming to PrismHR?
After college I started working in the technology space with a company that created tools for tracking, testing, and handling change management for software developers. After that my HR technology journey began when I worked at Monster.com as Product Manager for their Talent Management suite of products to help companies find, retain, and grow their talent back when the concept was new to the world of work. I also spent some time as a Director of Product Management at a small company that handled software for memberships – things like scheduling, sign ups, and bookings – we even developed a mobile app in the early days of mobile computing. Working for both large and small companies I have been able to work on a lot of different projects and technologies.
What interested you in PrismHR Product Management?
I knew PrismHR had industry leading software and the people were great. The entire organization had a passion for helping small businesses achieve their goals. With my Product Management and HR background I thought I could help make a difference for the company and their customers. I love Product Management and being able to create the best solution by working directly with customers, marketing, support, professional services, and development to bring new product ideas to fruition.
What is your favorite part of being a Product Manager at PrismHR?
I love working in Product Management at PrismHR, where I can work with so many different people who really care about our customers from senior leadership to all departments who just want to do right by our customers. We are constantly looking for new and modern ways to build our software and always using new technologies to bring the best experience to our customers, their clients, and employees.
What projects are you currently working on that you would like to share with our customers?
We are really excited about the new PrismHR Employee Portal mobile app that we just released last month. Adoption and feedback have been great, and it will help enable employees to get information they need, when they need it anytime right from their phones or tablets. We have also recently added manager functionality to Employee Portal and soon we will have the ability for a manager to add a new without having to enter sensitive personal information.
What do you enjoy doing when not working?
My wife and I have 3 kids and we live on a lake, so in the summer you will find us doing all kinds of lake stuff – boating, kayaking, paddleboarding. In the winter we enjoy skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling in the mountains of New Hampshire.
We are a busy family and enjoy anything outdoors. I enjoy playing golf or disc golf, and recently pickleball – we even have a pickleball court set up in our driveway for fun tournaments with family and friends.
