The January 2026 Release is scheduled to be deployed on the following days: 1/22, 1/23. Each month we release new features and enhancements across the platform to help you compete, operate efficiently, and expand opportunities to deliver value to your clients.

Check out recently delivered new functionality and enhancements in the October 2025, November 2025 and December 2025 releases.

January Release Highlights

Communication Hub: Operational Efficiency, Self-Service Functionality, Employee Experience

Introducing Communication Hub: Reach employees more effectively with a unified messaging platform that supports email, SMS, in-app and push notifications—all from one interface. Built on the PrismHR platform, Communication Hub uses employee data to power targeted, timely, and more impactful communications.

AI-Powered Content Improvement & Translation: Enhance campaign messaging with AI tools that help refine content and instantly translate it into other languages for broader, more effective communication.

Report Center: Data Access, Self-Service Functionality

Email Link for Scheduled Reports: Schedule reports to receive an email with a download link once processing is complete. Currently available to editors with PrismONE ID access, this feature will expand to all users in early February.

Report Repository: Access and download scheduled reports from a new menu in Report Center. Available to users with report scheduling permissions, reports are automatically removed based on user-defined retention periods for easier management.

Payroll & HR: Operational Efficiency

Clear Leave Request Approval Messaging: Improve clarity with separate, dedicated email notifications for leave request approvals. By decoupling these messages from HR approval emails, users receive clearer, more relevant communication and can easily understand and act on approvals directly from their inbox.

Employee Portal: Employee Experience, Self-Service Functionality

Manager Address Updates: Give managers more self-service control with the ability to update employee Resident, Mailing and W-2 addresses directly from the Manager Portal Employee Details.

Enhanced Employee Time Off View: Improve clarity for employees with an updated Time Off page that makes it easier to see used and available balances, aligned with the redesigned Manager Employee Details experience.

Benefits Administration & Enrollment: Operational Efficiency

Bulk Terminations with Automated Benefit Adjustments: Simplify administration during bulk terminations with automatic benefit adjustments. Users can choose to calculate or suppress adjustments at the time of processing, reducing manual effort and improving efficiency.

ClientSpace: Operational Efficiency

Global Search (Beta): Access a new system-wide search bar at the top of ClientSpace to quickly locate active records and navigate the platform more intuitively. (Beta feature—enrollment available via Extranet case.)

Performance Management: Operational Efficiency, Self-Service Functionality

Approval Workflows for Performance Forms and Positions: Streamline approvals with flexible workflows. Choose Group Approvals, where only one approver is needed from multiple assigned, or Designated Workflows, requiring sequential approval from all assigned approvers. This functionality will soon expand to other Talent modules like Onboarding and Hiring.

COMPLIANCE

January Focus: Year-End Compliance, Reporting

Highlights

Employer W-2 Client Wage Breakout: Increase visibility with informational taxable wage reporting by PEO client. The Employer W-2 build now calculates taxable wages at the client level while continuing to report employer-level wages on the W-2. This enhancement provides clearer insight into worksite client wages and will be fully reflected on W-2s starting in 2026.

Enhanced Symmetry Payroll Forms Integration (DC & NY): Improve tax accuracy with expanded Symmetry Payroll Forms integrations. Updates include DC D-4A non-resident certificate support with automatic updates, along with improved IT-2104 handling for NYC residents—automatically applying the correct NYC geocodes when residency is selected.

Pay Calculation & Voluntary Deduction Enhancements: Improve payroll accuracy with enhanced calculation methods, including a new voluntary 403(b) deduction category and expanded flat-sum overtime support across multiple pay codes.

REPORT CENTER

January Focus: Data Access, Self-Service Functionality

Highlights

Email Link for Scheduled Reports: Schedule reports to receive an email with a download link once processing is complete. Currently available to editors with PrismONE ID access, this feature will expand to all users in early February.

Year-End Dashboards: Enhance reporting with updated OBBBA and Secure Act 2.0 dashboards. Improvements include easier imports via the PrismHR Data Import Tool and Employee Fields Import, plus new options to group earnings by Common Law Employer Group or Client Control Group for Secure Act 2.0.

PAYROLL & HR

January Focus: Operational Efficiency

Highlights

Client-Level Variable Salary Control: Reduce confusion and simplify setup by assigning variable salary configurations at the client level. This ensures only clients who support variable salary employees see and use this functionality, improving clarity and consistency.

Quick Load for Regular Payrolls: Speed up payroll processing by enabling quick-load functionality when adding employees to regular payrolls. This enhancement brings the same efficiency previously limited to manual payrolls, reducing setup time and improving workflow consistency.

Highlights

Manager Address Updates: Give managers more self-service control with the ability to update employee Resident, Mailing and W-2 addresses directly from the Manager Portal Employee Details.

Enhanced Employee Time Off View: Improve clarity for employees with an updated Time Off page that makes it easier to see used and available balances, aligned with the redesigned Manager Employee Details experience.

Enhanced Dashboard Configuration Updates: Simplify dashboard management with a unified configuration experience that combines content and layout editing, now with built-in auditing for greater visibility and control.

Taxable Wages in Pay History: Increase transparency for employees by displaying taxable wages directly in the Taxes Withheld tab of Pay History within the Employee Portal.

Improved Accessibility with “Skip to Content”: Enhance keyboard accessibility with a new “Skip to Content” button in the Portal, allowing users to bypass navigation menus and jump directly to main content for a more inclusive experience.

BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION & ENROLLMENT

January Focus: Compliance, Operational Efficiency

Highlights

Bulk Terminations with Automated Benefit Adjustments: Simplify administration during bulk terminations with automatic benefit adjustments. Users can choose to calculate or suppress adjustments at the time of processing, reducing manual effort and improving efficiency.

HSA Eligibility by Benefit Group: Align HSA contributions with plan provisions by defining eligibility at the Benefit Group level. In Benefit Plan Setup, users can select “Use Benefit Group” for HSA Contribution plans and configure eligibility accordingly.

HSA Dollar-for-Dollar Match: Enable a new HSA contribution method with “Dollar Match” in Benefit Plan Setup for HSA Contribution plans. Users can also set an optional maximum contribution amount to control plan funding.

Life Event Effective Dates: Align coverage with plan provisions by allowing users to override the eligibility date for each life event type, ensuring accurate and flexible benefit administration.

Ad-Hoc Reminder Notifications: Easily communicate enrollment deadlines to individual employees by sending notifications directly from the Dashboard for timely, targeted reminders.

Enforce PCP Validations: Ensure accurate data entry with new workflow validations requiring employees to submit PCP IDs in the format defined in PrismHR, aligning with core system rules.

January Focus: Data Access, Operational Efficiency

Highlights

Global Search (Beta): Access a new system-wide search bar at the top of ClientSpace to quickly locate active records and navigate the platform more intuitively. (Beta feature—enrollment available via Extranet case.)

Organization API: Search, create and update Organization records through the ClientSpace API, enabling seamless data updates from external systems and improving accuracy across integrated platforms.

Benefit Export API: Improves premium risk factor precision by supporting exports with three or more decimal places, reducing rounding discrepancies and minimizing the need for manual premium adjustments.

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

Highlights

Approval Workflows for Performance Forms and Positions: Streamline approvals with flexible workflows. Choose Group Approvals, where only one approver is needed from multiple assigned, or Designated Workflows, requiring sequential approval from all assigned approvers. This functionality will soon expand to other Talent modules like Onboarding and Hiring.

Solicited Feedback from Any Employee: Collect broader insights by requesting feedback from employees not assigned to a performance form. Selected employees receive a link to provide input, while managers and administrators maintain control over how feedback is shared.

WORKFORCE MANAGEMENT

January Focus: Operational Efficiency, Self-Service Functionality

Highlights

Bulk Add Payable Items: Quickly add payables—such as bonuses or tips—to multiple employees at once using the Bulk Add Payable action from the Timesheet Summary screen, streamlining payroll entry and reducing manual effort.

Audit Enhancements “Created By” Visibility: Improve audit transparency by viewing who updated each rule directly in Global Settings history. The new Changed By column displays the responsible user for every effective-dated rule, and an updated history icon makes audit activity easier to identify at a glance.

Manager Submit Hours Permission: Allow managers to close periods and submit hours to PrismHR without granting full Timesheet Administrator access, providing targeted control while maintaining security and workflow integrity.

Highlights

Introducing Communication Hub: Reach employees more effectively with a unified messaging platform that supports email, SMS, in-app and push notifications—all from one interface. Built on the PrismHR platform, Communication Hub uses employee data to power targeted, timely and more impactful communications.

AI-Powered Content Improvement & Translation: Enhance campaign messaging with AI tools that help refine content and instantly translate it into other languages for broader, more effective communication.

Powerful Employee Targeting: Reach the right employees every time with flexible targeting options. Use existing PrismHR segments, create custom groups in Communication Hub, import lists from Report Center or select individuals for truly ad-hoc campaigns.

Import Groups via CSV: Quickly build recipient groups by importing a CSV file with Employee IDs. Communication Hub automatically matches employees and pulls contact information from PrismHR for fast, accurate targeting.

Review Campaign Activity Details: Monitor sent campaigns with detailed activity insights. Users can see which messages failed, understand why, and take corrective action before resending communications.
