Kent
Edwards is a Consultant and Principal with Houston-based PRISM Consulting Group,
which specializes in providing human resource consulting services and programs
to small and mid-sized companies. PRISM’s mission statement is “Supporting Businesses …

He
started his own consulting practice in 2001, and has over thirty years of
corporate-level Human Resources experience in the industrial distribution,
manufacturing, construction / contracting, and financial services industries.
Kent
has served as the VP of
HR in two different public companies, Vallen Corporation (which you might know
as Vallen Safety Supply Company), and Integrated Electrical Services (NYSE:IESC),
a company with 15,000 employees and over $1.8 Billion in sales.
More recently,
he was SVP of HR at Aegis Mortgage Corporation, one of the largest mortgage
production franchises in the United States, and was an original member of
Funding America, LLC, a start-up wholesale mortgage bank, serving as its SVP of
HR.
Throughout
his professional career, Kent has demonstrated the ability to provide
cost-effective solutions in an ever-changing business environment.
He has extensive experience in directing and coordinating human resource
activities including benefits, compensation, recruiting and staffing, training
and development, communications, HRIS, safety, payroll, and employee relations.
Kent’s mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, and integration
experience is significant. He has
in-depth, hands-on experience in virtually every area of HR.
A
long-time Houstonian, Kent earned his BBA in Marketing from Lamar University,
his MBA in Management from the University of Houston, and holds his PHR
certification as a Professional in Human Resources. He is an active member of the Society for Human
Resource Management and the Houston Human Resource Management Association / HR
Houston.
Kent
